During my recent trip to Bulgaria I was amazed by the juice I’ve discovered. Store shelves in Bulgaria are full of all kinds of fruit juices, most of them being high quality products. But this particular juice I’ve discovered is a rare jewel – cactus juice!
Queen's Кактус - cactus juice
Well, at least that’s how they promote it. It is actually a mix of apple juice, lime juice and the juice extracted from cactus fruit (they don’t say which one).
It’s sweet with a discrete sourness coming from lime juice. It leaves a hints of pineapple and melons on the palate. Anyway, it’s refreshing and exotic – and I recommend serving it cold.
With its cloudy texture, exotic taste and being of pale green color, cactus juice Кактус made by Queen’s is great option for mixing and creating interesting new mixed drinks.
There’s even a simple mixed drink recipe recommended on the packaging. Build it in a glass in given order:
- 50 ml – vodka
- Кактус cactus juice for topping up
- a few drops of lemon juice
The drink is called Kaktusso, by the way.
